Is boat insurance required?
Only a few states require you to insure your boat. However, if you’re financing your watercraft, chances are you’ll be required to add comprehensive and collision coverage to your boat.
Does boat insurance cover theft?
Yes it does, including damages to your vessel from accidents out of your control. The basic coverage plan for your boat doesn’t come standard, you must add it, and is usually required by your lender if you finance your boat.
